Blitz Hot-Start DNA Polymerase

Description

Blitz Hot-Start DNA Polymerase is a hot-start chimeric protein consisting of Pfu polymerase and an SSO7d DNA-binding domain. This domain stabilizes the polymerase-template complex, increasing processivity, synthesis rate, fidelity, and stability under high ionic strength conditions. The enzyme catalyzes the template-dependent polymerization of nucleotides into duplex DNA in the 5’→3’ direction and also exhibits 3’→5’ exonuclease (proofreading) activity, that enables the polymerase to correct nucleotide incorporation errors. It has no 5’ exonuclease activity. The hot-start modification significantly enhances the sensitivity and specificity of the assay. This enzyme is suitable for all PCR applications requiring greater accuracy or long amplicons such as cloning, high-fidelity and long range PCR, NGS library preparation.
