FloraCheck BV PCR Kit is designed to detect changes in the vaginal microbiome caused by an imbalance between the concentration of normally predominant Lactobacillus spp. and opportun Lactobacillus sppistic bacteria Gardnerella vaginalis and Atopobium vaginae, which can lead to infectious inflammation. The kit also determines total bacterial DNA in biological material (swabs, scrapings, and vaginal discharge) using real-time quantitative PCR. The limit of detection (LoD) is 1 000 copies/ml for Lactobacillus spp., G. vaginalis, or A. vaginae, based on extraction from a 100 µL sample volume. To prevent false-positive results caused by carryover contamination from previous amplification products, the kit includes uracil-DNA glycosylase (UDG) and dUTP.
