KleverLab Introduces first PCR Kit to Detect and Differentiate Key Bacillus cereus Virulence Markers
KleverTest Bacillus cereus DiTox PCR Kit delivers rapid, qualitative detection and differentiation of virulence-associated toxin genes in Bacillus cereus isolates. This advanced kit enables swift genetic characterization of B. cereus pathotypes by targetting key virulence markers: nheA (non-hemolytic enterotoxin), hblD (hemolysin BL), cytK1/cytK2 (cytolysin variants 1 and 2), and ces (cereulide synthase/emetic toxin marker)
Examples of the PCR efficiency in detecting and differentiating virulence-associated toxin genes in Bacillus cereus are shown in Figures 1–4.

Figure 1. Results of positive control amplification of KleverTest Bacillus cereus DiTox PCR Kit (amplification plot from FAM channel is presented). 5 separate reactions for 5 toxin genes performed.

Figure 2. Results of toxins profiling of B. cereus ATCC 10876 with KleverTest Bacillus cereus DiTox PCR Kit (amplification plot from FAM channel is presented). 5 separate reactions for 5 toxin genes performed.

Figure 3. Results of toxins profiling of B. cereus ATCC 11778 with KleverTest Bacillus cereus DiTox PCR Kit (amplification plot from FAM channel is presented). 5 separate reactions for 5 toxin genes performed.

Figure 4. Results of toxin profiling of B. subtilis ATCC 6633 with KleverTest Bacillus cereus DiTox PCR Kit (amplification plot from FAM channel is presented). 5 separate reactions for 5 toxin genes performed. The absence of signals indicates the specificity of the detection of toxin genes among the genus Bacillus.
